Continuing support for cancer patients
Antigonish Farmers’ Mutual makes donation to cancer assistance fund
AMHERST – The Cumberland Cancer Assistance fund of the Cumberland Health Care Foundation received another very generous donation from the Antigonish Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Company.
In 2013, AFM general manager Bill Chisholm and his colleagues pledged to donate $20,000 over five years to support this important Cancer program in Cumberland.
AFM believes in supporting the communities where their members reside and they do so in many ways, including financial contributions to worthwhile causes.
Donations to Cumberland Cancer Assistance directly support cancer patients who are facing significant financial pressure as a result of the impact of the illness.
The fund provides a helping hand with things like transportation for treatment, food and nutritional assistance, and other areas as identified by health authority’s cancer navigator as being required to maintain the health and well-being of the patient.
One hundred per cent of every donation made goes to help these patients and all of it stays in Cumberland County.
